INCLUSION OF ROMA AND OTHER MARGINALIZED GROUPS IN SERBIA

The InR Programme, in a joint action of national and local institutions and civil and private sector, by implementing numerous activities is to provide support to beneficiaries for their better positioning in the labour market. Beneficiaries can choose between long-term and short-term, formal and non-formal training courses specifically made to foster their employment opportunities. The programme, in addition to the said measures and in collaboration with the private sector, is to organise specialised internships and training courses custom-made to employers’ needs. An important element of the Programme is the support for beneficiaries in self-employment, hence the strong InR Programme emphasis on education and counselling for business start-up and work equipment allocation. Correspondingly, the Programme focuses on working directly with the community and beneficiaries to encourage and motivate them to assume an active role in the local community’s development. Programme’s partner organisations are to carry out activities involving career guidance and counselling, (psycho) social support, legal aid and other forms of assistance in social inclusion of Roma and reintegration of returnees.
